The Perth Fun Run Guide – March to May
Sunshine Beach Run
Taking place at the City Beach Foreshore on Sunday March 22, the SIDS and Kids Sunshine Beach Run donates all funds raised to expanding counselling and support services for those impacted by SIDS. Participants can choose between the 5km run, or the walking options of 5km, 3km and 1km.
Color Me Rad
Hosted by Curtin University in Bentley on the 28th of March, Color Me Rad is a 5km event, which definitely puts the fun times ahead of the actual running. As the name suggests, participants can expect to get covered in colour as they make their way around the track.
The Weekend to End Women’s Cancer
Not technically a run, but given that it’s a 60km walk, and it’s for a great cause, we thought it deserved a spot on this list. Benefiting the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, the event, which spans across the weekend of March 28 and 29, sees participants start, camp and finish at McCallum Park in Victoria Park.
Bridges Fun Run
Combining a 5km family-focused event, which starts at South Perth, with the traditional 10km event, starting at Riverside Drive, the April 12th Bridges Fun Run comes to a climax at Langley Park, the finishing position for both races.
Joondalup Half Marathon
Featuring three events – 21.1km, 10km, and 5km – the Joondalup Half Marathon, which will take place at Lake Joondalup on the 10th of May, provides an option for runners of all levels looking to compete in the event.
Mother’s Day Classic
Also taking place on the 10th of May is the Langley Park located Mother’s Day Classic, which has been an annual event for more than 15 years. The event offers 8km and 4km options and all funds raised go towards breast cancer research.
Run for a Reason
Adding in the 21km half marathon for the 2015 edition, the HBF Run for a Reason on Sunday May 24, is all about raising funds for WA health-based charities. You can also choose the 4km or 12km courses and people are encouraged to take on the courses however they like, whether walk, jog or run.
